Thanks so much for your great driving service last week. It was the highlight of our trip in Sicily seeing both the well-known and beautiful places like Noto, Modica and Ragusa Ibla and the little surprises that you found– like Marzimeni, the best arancini ever for lunch and gelato heaven. Despite the reputation of Italian drivers for speed and chaos on the roads, I always felt very comfortable with your driving which made the trip very relaxing. It was really good too that you spoke such great English and we could ask you lots about the region. I would thoroughly recommend Roberto to travellers who want a full or part day itinerary that is lots of fun and very interesting. Thank you so much! All the very best with your new business, we were fortunate to be your very first travellers.

We originally meant to use Roberto Sapone’s tour service for a single one-day trip: we have ended up going on seven. Each one has been a wonderfully interesting and enjoyable excursion into Sicilian history, geography and society. We would thoroughly recommend Roberto’s “Central Sicily” to anyone who wants a completely professional driver; a spacious and comfortable vehicle; a wonderfully kind, thoughtful, and capable guide (Roberto again!) who knows the roads, cities and sights, and who speaks excellent English. Roberto has been patient and understanding, knowing what tourists want to see and do. He has whisked us off to major tourist destinations all over the island; he has driven us on quiet, back-country roads. He has taken us to festivals, big and small: he has taken us to quiet and beautiful beaches. We found that using Roberto’s “Central Sicily” was economical (both in terms of money and time) and marvellously stress-free. Roberto made our Sicilian trip the dream holiday of a lifetime; and we cannot thank him too much, or recommend him too highly.

I have two great reasons to recommend Central Sicily Taxi and Roberto to everyone who wants to see Sicily in a very special way.
The first because I had the pleasure of travelling with Roberto to Castelbuono and Cefalu' - travelling in luxury in his Mercedes was wonderful and his fine sense of humour and knowledge of Sicily and the Sicilian way of life made the day just perfect.
The second reason is that I put two different groups of friends in touch with Roberto so they could see the real Sicily with him. Both groups loved him and raved about the fantastic time they had and all the great and unusual things they saw with him as their chauffeur.

We were delighted to be able to travel with
Roberto. His knowledge, care and kindness were always present. I have
Parkinson's Disease and could not have chosen a kinder man to travel with. His
driving is exemplary and we travelled throughout Central Sicily with positive
thoughts. His knowledge of the area led to several visits wihch we had not
anticipated, for example Modica - where we discovered Arancini and the local
chocolate - Noto,and Villla Romano del Tellaro (Roman mosaics) and the beauties
of. Ragusa Ibla.
Thanks to Roberto we also visited Mount Etna where
I was given a walk round the Craters Silvestri I cannot recommend his
knowledge,care and kindness strongly enough.
I would like to endorse all that Brian has said and
to add my recommendations. Roberto is lively, knowledgeable guide whose company
we enjoyed every day that he was with us. He made the holiday for us. We really
missed him when we had to part company. He deserves to succeed.

Dear Roberto,
I am writing to thank you very much for
the time and care you took to make the day Jean and I spent with you at
Villa Casale and Piazza Armerina such a happy experience. It was the
first time Jean had visited mainland Sicily and you made the day we were
with you truly memorable. Being with you made it possible for us simply
to enjoy the day and, apart from the amazing experience of Villa
Casale, to feel relaxed knowing that you would ensure that all went
well. You made what could have been a difficult day of travelling into a
relaxing and very enjoyable one.
Although I have visited Villa Casale several times, I
always find it exciting, even though now I know the mosaics very well.
For me, it is the unique archaeological treasure of Sicily. The island's
Greek temples are certainly impressive, but there are many of them
around Europe. Nowhere else has mosaics which can compare with the
Villa. Jean found them amazing. This was also the first time I visited
Piazza Armerina, which was so interesting and beautiful, but I am sure
often is overlooked as tourists' main interest is usually in seeing the
Villa. From now on, Piazza Armerina will always be part of the things
and places I want to see whenever I am in Sicily. We could not have had a
better guide than you, a native of the city. It was a great pleasure to
share with you the pride you take in your home town.
And I haven't even mentioned your excellent English!
I
will be writing to Massimo to thank him for the introduction to you. I
will also be giving your card to Italia nel Mondo in London, who make
all my travel arrangements for me. The company deals mainly with Lipari
and the other islands, but have a general Sicilian business as well. I
will tell them that I highly recommend you.
